Misamis Occidental is a province in Western Mindanao landlocked by Zamboanga Del Sur and Zamboanga del Norte on the west and Panguil Bay on the east.

This humble province' contribution to the nations history is unknown to many despite its value and significance to our nation building. At some point, the Capitol Building of Misamis Occidental became the seat of the President during World War 2 and war money is being minted in the province.

I will share those stories along the way but for now, let me take you to the beautiful town of Sapang Dalaga.

Sapang Dalaga is a fifth class municipality in the province of Misamis Occidental, Philippines, 96 kilometres from Ozamiz City and 50 kilometres from Dipolog City airport.

This amazing sleepy town was once a haven of not so good people seeking refuge from the military but thanks to this TOP 3 attractions - it finally changed its spot in the province.

1. Sapang Dalaga Falls
This amazing waterfall was once called Baga Falls is located at Poblacion, Sapang Dalaga.
If you wonder how they came to be known as a town, this area converted into a park tell it all. Sapang Dalaga or Sapa ng Dalaga means "maiden in the creek". A statue was erected to initiate talking points of its rich history when you visit this waterfall.


2. Caluya Floating Cottages
These floating cottages are located at Barangay Caluya. These cottages are perfect for some seafood buffet and swimming.




3. Caluya Shrine
Overlooking Murcielagos Bay that floats these amazing cottages, Christ the Redeemer is a 60ft monument patterned after the famous landmark in Rio De Janeiro. Matter of fact, one of Rio's designer is instrumental in creating this masterpiece. With more than a hundred step to its peak, your knees shall kneel at the beauty of the 360 degrees view it offers on top.
